service free of charge?
A: We can provide this service free to you with no charge, because we
receive a percentage of the rate your caller pays to contact you on your
08xx/070x number.
Q. What are 08xx/070x numbers?
A: 08xx/070x numbers are non-geographic or virtual
numbers.
Q: How
do 08xx/070x numbers work?
A: 08xx/070x numbers are completely transparent to your current telephone service.
The service is simply implemented by routing your chosen 08xx/070x number to
your current local telephone number. When your callers call the 08xx/070x number they are redirected to your
receiving phone line without any delay in the call
whatsoever.
Q: Do we have to change our telephone provider?
A: Absolutely not. We simply route your
08xx/070x number
on to your existing phone number. Your telephone provider will
neither know nor care that it has happened.
Q: Should I cancel my current
telephone provider?
A: No. Having an
08xx/070x number is a
complimentary service. You do not need to cancel your current
telephone line provider, because you need them to make and
receive calls.
Q: Can
08xx/070x numbers be used without a telephone line?
A: No. They can only be used when connected with to a
telephone line.
Q: Would I need any new telephone equipment installing?
A:
No. You will continue to receive your calls in the same
way as you do now, the only difference is the phone number people call you on.
Q: Would I need any additional telephone lines installing?
A:
No. Calls on your 08xx/070x number are diverted through
to wherever you want calls delivered. You will have the same capacity for
calls as you currently have. You can even have several 08xx/070x numbers terminating at
the same place.
Q: Can I have more than one
08xx/070x number diverted to my phone line?
A: Yes, you can have more than one 08xx/070x number
diverted to your telephone line.
Q: Can I divert an
08xx/070x number to any phone
system?
A: Yes. 08xx/070x
numbers can be used on any system
that uses a phone line. For example: voice, fax, switchboards,
ISDN etc.
Q: Can
I divert an 08xx/070x number to a mobile phone?
No. You cannot divert
08xx/070x numbers to
mobile phones unless otherwise stated. OpenTelecom
recommends that you setup call diversion with
your local landline telecom supplier so that incoming calls will
automatically diverted to your mobile or other nominated
number.
Q: Will there be any difference in the quality of calls
I receive?
A: No. We use high quality telecom carriers to deliver
calls from your 08xx/070x number through to your phone
line.
Q: Can I make calls using my
08xx/070x number?
A: No. Your
virtual number
is designed to deliver inbound calls only. It does not allow you to make
outbound phone calls.
Q: Does the
08xx/070x number affect the calls that we make?
A: No. The 08xx/070x number has no
effect on your outbound telephone calls. You continue to make your calls through
your current telephony provider that you normally use.

numbers have call logs?
A: Yes. If you wish to open an account to have access to view the call
logs for your 08xx/070x numbers,

Q: Can I get a more easy to remember

A: Yes. We can supply you with a more memorable
08xx/070x number otherwise know
as a gold or vanity number. They have a one-time setup fee from £500 per

Q: How do I change the forwarding number of my
08xx/070x number and how long does it take?

change the ring to number of your
08xx/070x number

It takes from 1-2 business days to change the ring to
number, so please let us know in advance. If you need
it changing sooner please contact us.
Q: How long does it take to setup a new
08xx/070x number?
A: Normally your 08xx/070x
number
will be connected and operational within 5 working days
(Monday to Friday) from receipt of your order. However, if
you need your number connecting sooner
please contact customer services
to arrange this.
Q: Why am I having difficulties dialling my
08xx/070x number from
outside the UK?
A: Problems dialling an
+448xx/+4470x numbers from outside the UK are
normally related to dialling the incorrect access code. When
you dial any UK number, you must include all the
international codes necessary for calling the UK. (always
remove the first zero of UK numbers, when calling from an
international phone line)

IMPORTANT:
Ofcom
the regulator of the UK telecom industry has requested that
all international telecom operators make +448xx/+4470x
UK numbers available from overseas phone lines.
When a UK number is dialled from an international phone
line, it is the originating call provider (OCP) in the country
of origin who is responsible for routing the call
to the UK. If your call cannot be connected, then you must
report this fault to the originating call provider (OCP) being using to
make the call and have calls to these UK numbers unblocked. OpenTelecom cannot be held responsible if certain overseas
telecom operators do not permit access to these virtual UK
numbers.
Q: How much does it cost to call an
08xx/070x number from
outside the UK?
A:
The cost of calling an 08xx/070x number from an international landline or mobile phone
varies according to the charges of the international operator service that
places the call. Your telephone company will offer a standard international charge
for contacting this type of number.

exact information on the price of calling an
08xx/070x number from outside
of the UK.
Q: What do you offer to make sure nothing goes wrong
with my phone service?

Q: Can I earn revenue from

A: No.
OpenTelecom supplies a free of charge service on all basic
numbers without intelligence,
therefore we are unable to support revenue payments as we
need to retain all revenue to cover operating costs.
Q: Can I have additional services added to my
08xx/070x number?
A: Yes.
Additional features include
call divert plan and
time of day plan,
an advantage when you are dealing with large call volumes
(pricing may be applicable).
