Problem on some WiFi networks with the VoIP (SIP) Groundwire App

We have had a couple of instances where clients have been unable to make outbound calls with their PrepayGEO VoIP (SIP) accounts using the Groundwire app. In all cases the client could receive inbound calls, but could not make outbound!

This is due to a proxy configuration issue which occurs on some internet broadband/DSL routers. This can be resolved by following the below instructions.

1.Click on Settings, click on Enabled Account, then click on Advanced Settings.

2. Click on NAT Traversal, then scroll down and click on Outbound Proxy. Enable Outbound Proxy and input sip.open-telecom.co.uk into the Host section. Once you have done this, click Done and Save all changes.

  1. Hello . I’m using a groundwire and I have a problem with using wi-fi .
I can receive calls but cannot make a call ..
I’m not living in UK so what should i write instead of ” sip.open-telecom.co.uk “..
Any help will be appreciated ..

    1. Unless you are using geo numbers or you have had you 08 or 070 number upgraded to the Prepay Plan your voip app will not work. Also to make calls you will need to load call credit on to you online account with us. Calls are not free of charge and not are the diverts on the geo plan or the prepay plan

      1. We have now upgraded all 08 and 070 numbers to support free call forwarding and roaming to voip phone . Free call forwarding and paid call forwarding still functions as normal, but if you wan to make calls via our voip phone network you will have to load call credit on to your online account you have with us.
