EE and Virgin Media fined for overcharging customers

EE and Virgin Media have been fined a total of £13.3 million for overcharging almost 500,000 mobile and broadband customers who wanted to leave their contracts early. Clearer phone charges on the way, says Ofcom

Customers who use phone numbers beginning with 08, 09 or 118 should in future have a much clearer idea of how much their calls will cost. The telecoms regulator, Ofcom, has confirmed a plan to change the way such calls are charged for.
